Membership Qualification Standards

In order to ensure that APIC Members are uniquely qualified to contribute to and benefit from its aims, the Board of Directors has established the following membership qualification standards effective January 8, 2010.

A Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Graystone Consulting Financial Advisor MUST qualify as either a Voting Individual Member or as a Team Voting Member in a formal, established, "Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Team" with a current Voting Member.

Voting APIC membership applicants must:

1. Be a good SB/Citi citizen, IE, a clean - U4, affirmed by your BOM.
2. Have sponsorship of a current Voting APIC member and one other member (voting or nonvoting).
3. Have attained one of the following mandatory titles.

• Institutional Consulting Director (ICD)
• Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF/AIFA)
• Senior Institutional Consultant (SIC)
• Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA)
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
• Family Wealth Director (FWD)
• Corporate Client Group Director (CCG)
• Senior Investment Management Consultant (SIMC)

Associate (non-member) membership applicant must be either a:

• Team Associate: in an established team relationship with a current voting member, including Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Graystone Consulting Financial Advisors who do not qualify as voting members, technical analysts, marketing associates and other designated team members.
  OR
• Firm Associate: other employees of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or an affiliated company, excepting Morgan Stanley Smith Barney or Graystone Consulting Financial Advisors, including Consulting Group Staff, Branch Managers, and others who wish to support APIC and participate in its activities.

After completing your application:

1. The membership committee and chairman will submit your application to the board for approval. (Approvals occur the first week of each month at the Board of Directors conference call.)
2. Once approved, you will be notified to pay your dues.
3. After confirmation of your payment, the executive director will:
   a. contact you with a logon & password
   b. will answer any questions you have.
   c. help you to log in as a Member, allowing access to:
   1. Streetsmarts (Our information data base / blog )
   2. Townhall meetings
   3. Oracle, our by monthly newsletter.
